- What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?I will unite our country, not tear it apart. We have such an odious, unpopular, unqualified candidate from the Republican side that there really is just one choice.
- Will you give Bernie Sanders a prime speaking slot at the Democratic Convention?This is only to be expected for the candidate who came in second place during our nomination process.
- Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?Obama should focus on his accomplishments and the improving economy, and then on how I will uphold his policies and legacy as President.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?I will remind the American people that I am a uniter, and that I will make our country whole again. I think the message will be pretty clear.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?We'll bring up Trump University whenever Trump attacks us. Maybe it will get him to shut up for a bit.
- What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?I have opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership for many of the same reasons that Trump brings up. The bipartisan support for free trade that he inveighs against simply doesn't exist.
- Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?I believe that nothing would better unite our party than a pledge like this. Perhaps it will help progressives to support me now, if they can plan on running their own candidate in 2020.
- To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?Most Americans want to see an increase in the minimum wage, and I stand by my support for this measure.
- Are you still opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Would you pursue further trade agreements as President?I had issues with this particular agreement, but I would still support the expansion of trade as President.
- To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?I'd like Obama to focus on driving turnout in minority neighborhoods, which we will need to replicate his victories of 2008 and 2012.
- To what extent will you support the presence of Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail?We want Sanders on the campaign trail as much as possible, and we will discuss with him what we can do to make it happen.
- Donald Trump is attacking you almost daily on your 2002 vote in favor of the Iraq War. How do you plan to respond?Trump is lying if he says he opposed this war. There's no evidence or recorded statement of his opposition until well after the war began.
- Do you have plans to emphasize a path to universal health care in your campaign?We need to do something to drive turnout and keep Sanders supporters off of the sidelines. I will pledge to fight for universal health care as President.
- Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?Donald Trump has repeatedly stepped over the line with his irresponsible rhetoric, and it shouldn't be any surprise that more and more protestors are turning out against him.
- Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?Any chance we can get to expose Trump's complete lack of preparation for the Presidency is a win for us.
- What was your rationale behind selecting Julian Castro as your running mate?Julian Castro is a bright, young, energetic man who will be perfectly ready to assume the Presidency from day one. He represents the best and brightest of the Hispanic community.
- While giving a speech today, Donald Trump suddenly stopped speaking and appeared to briefly faint. A Secret Service agent supported him, and he came to and quickly finished the speech. Do you have any comment?I wouldn't be concerned about this. I'm 68 years old, and Mr. Trump is 70, and there is always the odd moment at that age. It doesn't mean there's any serious underlying issue.
- What actions would you take in Syria to help stabilize the situation there, and to combat ISIS?We should establish a safe zone in Syria for refugees, while doing anything we can to effect a transition from Assad.
- Do you believe that the Senate should confirm Merrick Garland, an Obama appointee, to the Supreme Court?This is congressional obstructionism at its worst. We've seen any number of judges be appointed in the final year of a term. We can't have what we're seeing right now.
- Do you support the recent reopening of relations with Cuba?I'm glad that we have reached out to Cuba, but I would like to have seen a little more insistence that they liberalize their country first.
- Where will you spend your final day of the campaign?Florida
- There has been a coordinated, violent terrorist attack on Berlin today, resulting in the death of at least 100 people. How will you address this?We're going to find whoever did this and bring them to justice. And let us remember, our country is at its best when we stand united. Islam is a religion of peace, and we only encourage the spread of terrorism if we overreact against innocent, patriotic Americans in the wake of this.
- Donald Trump has said in a couple of speeches that, "we don't really know" who fathered Chelsea Clinton. Do you have any comment?Mr. Trump's attacks are grotesque and outrageous. I trust that Americans of all persuasions will vote this type of rhetoric down in November.

We need to show that there is no place for this rhetoric.
