Answers:

  • Where will you spend your final day of the campaign?
    Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa
  • What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?
I will unite our country, not tear it apart. We have such an odious, unpopular, unqualified candidate from the Republican side that there really is just one choice.
  • Will you give Bernie Sanders a prime speaking slot at the Democratic Convention?
We have no idea what Bernie Sanders might say, and the last thing we need is some kind of distraction before my acceptance speech.
  • Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?
Obama should focus on Donald Trump, and the danger that he represents for the future of our country.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?
I will remind the American people that I am a uniter, and that I will make our country whole again. I think the message will be pretty clear.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?
We have a civil case in progress which will draw plenty of attention to this matter. I have plenty of other things to attack Donald Trump over.
  • What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?
Free trade and globalization have been a huge driver of economic growth over the past 25 years.
  • Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?
    That's absurd. Of course not.
  • To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?
This is part of my platform, but it won't be a central part of my campaign speeches.
  • Are you still opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Would you pursue further trade agreements as President?
I had issues with this particular agreement, but I would still support the expansion of trade as President.
  • To what extent will you support the presence of Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail?
We don't really plan to discuss this. I'd rather not be responsible for whatever Sanders might say.
  • Donald Trump is attacking you almost daily on your 2002 vote in favor of the Iraq War. How do you plan to respond?
We would have stabilized Iraq and won a great victory there, if we hadn't pulled out so hastily.
  • Do you stand by your position, voiced during the primaries, that you will not deport any illegal immigrant who has not otherwise committed a crime?
This is my preferred position. But unfortunately, it looks as though the courts will rule that Obama has gone too far.
  • Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?
Donald Trump's words go against everything our nation stands for, but I don't think it's correct or helpful to disrupt his rallies or to shout epithets at his supporters.
  • Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?
We shouldn't dignify Donald Trump's views with a debate. I will decline to participate in them.
  • What was your rationale behind selecting Sherrod Brown as your running mate?
Sherrod Brown has a record as one of the most progressive members in the Senate, and he has fought for his home state of Ohio for his entire career.
  • In a hearing today, a New York judge has set the trial date for the Trump University lawsuit to August of this year. Do you have any comment?
Let's reserve judgment and wait to see how this trial turns out.
  • Do you support the Supreme Court ruling in 2015 which struck down any prohibition on gay marriage?
I can't support it. You know, once upon a time we actually had a legislature in this country which debated the laws and made these kinds of decisions.
  • How concerned are you about the $17 trillion debt that the United States currently owes?
This is absolutely obscene, and it's not going to keep growing when I am President.
  • Do you support the practice of fracking? What is your overall view on energy policy?
I love fracking. We need to do anything we can to support it.
  • What is your position on the European Union? Do you believe that countries such as the United Kingdom should exit the Union, given the current problems?
The European Union has been a complete disaster, and I can't blame any country, especially the United Kingdom, that would want out.
  • What is your take on the Black Lives Matter movement?
I support our police officers, who are working so hard to uphold the law in this country.
  • What measures should be taken to make college more affordable?
We need a more balanced trade situation, so that we have jobs available to people at all levels of society. We've really done a disservice to the white and African-American working class over the past twenty years.
  • Donald Trump is regularly floating the accusation that Bill Clinton had a male child with an African-American hooker in Little Rock, and that both of you have conspired to bury the story. Do you have any comment?
Mr. Trump's attacks are grotesque and outrageous. I trust that Americans of all persuasions will vote this type of rhetoric down in November.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?
Everybody knows about these kinds of statements. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be dragged into the gutter on this. Rather, we should focus on policy issues in our campaign.
