- Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?I want Obama to make a targeted appeal to the African-American community to help make my case.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?I am going to be pretty explicit in calling out the rhetoric and demagoguery of Donald Trump throughout this election.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?We have a civil case in progress which will draw plenty of attention to this matter. I have plenty of other things to attack Donald Trump over.
- What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?I have opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership for many of the same reasons that Trump brings up. The bipartisan support for free trade that he inveighs against simply doesn't exist.
- Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?I believe that nothing would better unite our party than a pledge like this. Perhaps it will help progressives to support me now, if they can plan on running their own candidate in 2020.
- To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?Most Americans want to see an increase in the minimum wage, and I stand by my support for this measure.
- Are you still opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Would you pursue further trade agreements as President?I would encourage Democrats in Congress to oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership when it comes to a vote.
- To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?We want Obama on the campaign trail as much as possible, and we plan to do several joint events.
- To what extent will you support the presence of Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail?We don't really plan to discuss this. I'd rather not be responsible for whatever Sanders might say.
- Do you have plans to emphasize a path to universal health care in your campaign?We need to do something to drive turnout and keep Sanders supporters off of the sidelines. I will pledge to fight for universal health care as President.
- Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?Donald Trump has repeatedly stepped over the line with his irresponsible rhetoric, and it shouldn't be any surprise that more and more protestors are turning out against him.
- In the wake of Trump's nomination, a number of prominent anti-Trump Republicans are organizing to cast votes for Libertarian Gary Johnson as a protest, with an emphasis on the Western states. What are your thoughts?I believe, regardless of how we feel about Donald Trump, that he won his party's nomination and should not be challenged in this manner.
- Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?Any chance we can get to expose Trump's complete lack of preparation for the Presidency is a win for us.
- What was your rationale behind selecting Cory Booker as your running mate?Cory Booker is a bright, young, energetic man who will be perfectly ready to assume the Presidency from day one. He represents the best and brightest of the African-American community.
- The FBI has recommended the indictment of several of your aides, based on classified intelligence which they obtained from secure facilities and emailed to you. Do you have any comment?This is yet another example, like Benghazi or many others, of a politically motivated witch hunt. I support my associates completely, and fully expect to see their names cleared before this is done.
- At a Trump rally today, a deranged supporter fired at several protestors before he was tackled. Are these rallies getting out of hand?Repeatedly, Mr. Trump has refused to acknowledge the consequences of his divisive rhetoric, and events at his rallies continue to escalate. What will it take for him to acknowledge that he is responsible?
- Protests at a Trump rally in Oakland, California degenerated into a riot last night, with extensive property damage and at least one death. What are your thoughts?Surely we have learned the lesson that violence breeds more violence and that it cannot be condoned, whatever the source. I think that Mr. Trump and a number of sincere but unwise protestors have both gotten completely out of hand this year.
- Do you support the construction of a 20-foot wall along the entire length of the U.S.-Mexico border?Maybe this issue has been caught up in a bit of rhetorical excess, but I will be very tough on illegal immigration when I am President.
- What is your position on the European Union? Do you believe that countries such as the United Kingdom should exit the Union, given the current problems?The European Union has been a complete disaster, and I can't blame any country, especially the United Kingdom, that would want out.
- What measures should be taken to make college more affordable?We need a more balanced trade situation, so that we have jobs available to people at all levels of society. We've really done a disservice to the white and African-American working class over the past twenty years.
- There has been a coordinated, violent terrorist attack on London today, resulting in the death of at least 100 people. How will you address this?This is another case of radical Islamists attempting to destroy the values that we stand for. We have to admit that a huge part of Islam is at war with America and the western world, and we continue to have far too many people who are looking the other way.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?Mr. Trump's gross and outlandish rhetoric should disgust any decent, hard-working women in our society. We need to show that there is no place for this rhetoric.
