Answers:

  • Where will you spend your final day of the campaign?
    Ohio and Pennsylvania
  • What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?
I will unite our country, not tear it apart. We have such an odious, unpopular, unqualified candidate from the Republican side that there really is just one choice.
  • Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?
Obama should focus on Donald Trump, and the danger that he represents for the future of our country.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?
I will remind the American people that I am a uniter, and that I will make our country whole again. I think the message will be pretty clear.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?
We have a civil case in progress which will draw plenty of attention to this matter. I have plenty of other things to attack Donald Trump over.
  • What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?
Free trade and globalization have been a huge driver of economic growth over the past 25 years.
  • Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?
    That's absurd. Of course not.
  • To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?
This is part of my platform, but it won't be a central part of my campaign speeches.
  • Are you still opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Would you pursue further trade agreements as President?
Let's wait a few years and see how things go before we consider the next steps.
  • To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?
I am my own candidate. We need to minimize how much we are associated with the Obama Administration during this campaign.
  • Donald Trump is attacking you almost daily on your 2002 vote in favor of the Iraq War. How do you plan to respond?
We would have stabilized Iraq and won a great victory there, if we hadn't pulled out so hastily.
  • Do you have plans to emphasize a path to universal health care in your campaign?
I will repeat my opinion that the goal is desirable, but impractical in our current political environment.
  • Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?
Donald Trump has repeatedly stepped over the line with his irresponsible rhetoric, and it shouldn't be any surprise that more and more protestors are turning out against him.
  • In the wake of Trump's nomination, a number of prominent anti-Trump Republicans are organizing to cast votes for Libertarian Gary Johnson as a protest, with an emphasis on the Western states. What are your thoughts?
I believe, regardless of how we feel about Donald Trump, that he won his party's nomination and should not be challenged in this manner.
  • Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?
We shouldn't dignify Donald Trump's views with a debate. I will decline to participate in them.
  • What was your rationale behind selecting Elizabeth Warren as your running mate?
Elizabeth Warren is a good friend and an icon of the progressive movement. There are very few people in this country who have done more to advance progressive ideals than Ms. Warren.
  • Do you support the construction of a 20-foot wall along the entire length of the U.S.-Mexico border?
We're going to build the wall, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
  • Do you believe that the Senate should confirm Merrick Garland, an Obama appointee, to the Supreme Court?
You can't confirm him. We've got to let the people decide this November.
  • Do you support any type of comprehensive immigration reform, and if so, to what extent?
I'm not opposed to comprehensive immigration reform. We just need to build a wall first, and deport the people who have no right to be in the United States.
  • Do you support the recent reopening of relations with Cuba?
The way our current President has been kowtowing to the repressive leaders of Cuba is a disgrace. It really is.
  • How concerned are you about the $17 trillion debt that the United States currently owes?
This is absolutely obscene, and it's not going to keep growing when I am President.
  • Do you support the practice of fracking? What is your overall view on energy policy?
I love fracking. We need to do anything we can to support it.
  • Do you have plans to take in more than the current level of 10,000 refugees per annum from the conflict in Syria?
We shouldn't be taking any refugees from Syria. We're talking about some very bad people here, who don't have America's interests at heart.
  • Donald Trump has said in a couple of speeches that, "we don't really know" who fathered Chelsea Clinton. Do you have any comment?
Mr. Trump's attacks are grotesque and outrageous. I trust that Americans of all persuasions will vote this type of rhetoric down in November.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?
Everybody knows about these kinds of statements. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be dragged into the gutter on this. Rather, we should focus on policy issues in our campaign.
