- What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?As President, I will push for a higher minimum wage, immigration reform, economic growth, and a responsible foreign policy. We have no idea what my opponent would do.
- Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?Obama should focus on Donald Trump, and the danger that he represents for the future of our country.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?I will remind the American people that I am a uniter, and that I will make our country whole again. I think the message will be pretty clear.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?We have a civil case in progress which will draw plenty of attention to this matter. I have plenty of other things to attack Donald Trump over.
- What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?I have opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership for many of the same reasons that Trump brings up. The bipartisan support for free trade that he inveighs against simply doesn't exist.
- Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?That's absurd. Of course not.
- Are you still opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Would you pursue further trade agreements as President?Let's wait a few years and see how things go before we consider the next steps.
- To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?I'd like Obama to focus on driving turnout in minority neighborhoods, which we will need to replicate his victories of 2008 and 2012.
- Donald Trump is attacking you almost daily on your 2002 vote in favor of the Iraq War. How do you plan to respond?I had to make a decision based on the evidence we had at the time. I would not make this vote, knowing what I know today.
- Do you stand by your position, voiced during the primaries, that you will not deport any illegal immigrant who has not otherwise committed a crime?This is my preferred position. But unfortunately, it looks as though the courts will rule that Obama has gone too far.
- Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?Donald Trump's words go against everything our nation stands for, but I don't think it's correct or helpful to disrupt his rallies or to shout epithets at his supporters.
- In the wake of Trump's nomination, a number of prominent anti-Trump Republicans are organizing to cast votes for Libertarian Gary Johnson as a protest, with an emphasis on the Western states. What are your thoughts?It isn't my place to step into these kinds of disputes. I would hope that people see Hillary Clinton as the best candidate for President when they look at the ballot.
- Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?Any chance we can get to expose Trump's complete lack of preparation for the Presidency is a win for us.
- What was your rationale behind selecting Elizabeth Warren as your running mate?Elizabeth Warren is a good friend and an icon of the progressive movement. There are very few people in this country who have done more to advance progressive ideals than Ms. Warren.
- While giving a speech today, you suddenly stopped speaking and appeared to briefly faint. A Secret Service agent supported you, and you came to and quickly finished the speech. Do you have any comment?It was just a headache which came on suddenly, and not any kind of long-term health issue. It's a shame that certain members of the right-wing have trafficked in fantastical conspiracy theories about my health.

Do you have any comment?I wouldn't be concerned about this. I'm 68 years old, and Mr. Trump is 70, and there is always the odd moment at that age. It doesn't mean there's any serious underlying issue.
- Do you support the recent nuclear deal between the United States and Iran?This deal is a completely asinine joke. We still owe Iran $150 billion if we change our mind. We just give them the money.
- Do you support the construction of a 20-foot wall along the entire length of the U.S.-Mexico border?We're going to build the wall, and Mexico is going to pay for it.
- What is your opinion of Barack Obama's performance as President?I will be very proud to continue with the policies and economy that Obama has left our country with.
- What is your position on the abortion issue?Abortion is a terrible, terrible thing. We need judges in this country that will see it that way, and end this practice once and for all.
- What are the next steps that the United States should take to combat global warming?Even if global warming is real, I highly doubt it has anything to do with human activity.
- What is your take on the Black Lives Matter movement?I believe that black lives matter. I fully support this group in their objectives. They are the civil rights group of our time.
- There has been a coordinated, violent terrorist attack on several American cities over the past day, resulting in the deaths of at least 100 people. How will you address this?This is another case of radical Islamists attempting to destroy the values that we stand for. We have to admit that a huge part of Islam is at war with America and the western world, and we continue to have far too many people who are looking the other way.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?Mr. Trump's gross and outlandish rhetoric should disgust any decent, hard-working women in our society. We need to show that there is no place for this rhetoric.
