- What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?We've had a terrific President in Barack Obama for the last eight years. I will do everything in my power to defend his policies from attack.
- Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?I want Obama to make a targeted appeal to the African-American community to help make my case.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?I will remind the American people that I am a uniter, and that I will make our country whole again. I think the message will be pretty clear.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?We'll bring up Trump University whenever Trump attacks us. Maybe it will get him to shut up for a bit.
- What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?I have opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership for many of the same reasons that Trump brings up. The bipartisan support for free trade that he inveighs against simply doesn't exist.
- Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?I believe that nothing would better unite our party than a pledge like this. Perhaps it will help progressives to support me now, if they can plan on running their own candidate in 2020.
- To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?I'm going to announce during my acceptance speech that I support a minimum wage of $15 an hour.
- To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?I am my own candidate. We need to minimize how much we are associated with the Obama Administration during this campaign.
- To what extent will you support the presence of Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail?We don't really plan to discuss this. I'd rather not be responsible for whatever Sanders might say.
- Donald Trump is attacking you almost daily on your 2002 vote in favor of the Iraq War. How do you plan to respond?We would have stabilized Iraq and won a great victory there, if we hadn't pulled out so hastily.
- Do you stand by your position, voiced during the primaries, that you will not deport any illegal immigrant who has not otherwise committed a crime?This is my preferred position. But unfortunately, it looks as though the courts will rule that Obama has gone too far.
- Do you have plans to emphasize a path to universal health care in your campaign?I will repeat my opinion that the goal is desirable, but impractical in our current political environment.
- Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?Donald Trump's words go against everything our nation stands for, but I don't think it's correct or helpful to disrupt his rallies or to shout epithets at his supporters.
- In the wake of Trump's nomination, a number of prominent anti-Trump Republicans are organizing to cast votes for Libertarian Gary Johnson as a protest, with an emphasis on the Western states. What are your thoughts?It isn't my place to step into these kinds of disputes. I would hope that people see Hillary Clinton as the best candidate for President when they look at the ballot.
- Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?Any chance we can get to expose Trump's complete lack of preparation for the Presidency is a win for us.
- What was your rationale behind selecting Elizabeth Warren as your running mate?Elizabeth Warren is a good friend and an icon of the progressive movement. There are very few people in this country who have done more to advance progressive ideals than Ms. Warren.
- Do you support the Supreme Court ruling in 2015 which struck down any prohibition on gay marriage?I can't support it. You know, once upon a time we actually had a legislature in this country which debated the laws and made these kinds of decisions.
- Do you believe that the Senate should confirm Merrick Garland, an Obama appointee, to the Supreme Court?You can't confirm him. We've got to let the people decide this November.
- Do you have plans to take in more than the current level of 10,000 refugees per annum from the conflict in Syria?We shouldn't be taking any refugees from Syria. We're talking about some very bad people here, who don't have America's interests at heart.
- What is your take on the Black Lives Matter movement?I support African-Americans in this country and I oppose police brutality. But these activists are a different story. There have been some very hateful things said, and they are tied to a number of riots that we've seen.
- Where will you spend your final day of the campaign?Florida

How will you address this?This is another case of radical Islamists attempting to destroy the values that we stand for. We have to admit that a huge part of Islam is at war with America and the western world, and we continue to have far too many people who are looking the other way.

- Donald Trump has said in a couple of speeches that, "we don't really know" who fathered Chelsea Clinton. Do you have any comment?Mr. Trump's attacks are grotesque and outrageous. I trust that Americans of all persuasions will vote this type of rhetoric down in November.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?Everybody knows about these kinds of statements. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be dragged into the gutter on this. Rather, we should focus on policy issues in our campaign.
