  • Do you believe the federal government is doing enough to enforce laws against employing illegal immigrants?
    The Department of Homeland Security is deporting hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants each year. How can anyone suggest that we're not trying to address this issue?
  • A recent Supreme Court decision affirmed an Arizona law allowing officers to check suspected illegal immigrants for proof of immigration status. Do you think this law is a good idea?
    The proper authority for enforcement rests with the federal government. This law goes further than federal laws and even if constitutional, should be repealed.
  • Should the United States contribute funds to help stabilize the European Union's sovereign debt problems, in order to prevent a possible debt contagion?
    I trust that the European Union will find a way to resolve this issue.
  • Do you support a larger fence or even a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border to prevent illegal immigration?
    The border fence should become a border wall, with more depth to its patrols. It is simply too easy for migrants to sneak across the border right now.
  • What is your position on gay marriage?
    I'm opposed this personally. I think that, you know, different states have different opinions on this matter and it's best left to them to decide on the issue.
  • Do you support allowing the Bush Tax Cuts to expire for high-income households at the end of 2012?
    Our most productive citizens need further tax cuts to stimulate business confidence, investment, and further job creation.
  • Overall, are you satisfied with the trade relationship between the U.S. and China?
    The U.S.-China relationship has destroyed middle class jobs for close to three decades. We need drastic changes including more protection for American manufacturing.
  • What do you think we should do next in regards to Social Security?
    You know, the projected shortfall that people talk of, we're not even talking about the Trust Fund making a net payout until 2033. Maybe there are some tweaks we can make to the program, but it is fundamentally sound.
  • We have now had 10 years to analyze the effects of the No Child Left Behind Act. Do you think it is time for a change?
    This idea was a failure from day one. Federal education funds are needed the most in low-income districts which have disproportionately suffered from this legislation.
  • Does it still make sense to provide military aid to Pakistan's government?
    Osama Bin Laden was living in a mansion that the government paid for with our money. It's time for this relationship to end.
  • Should all private insurance plans be required to cover contraceptives and birth control?
    This is a violation of religious freedom. Many religious organizations and hospitals insure or care for individuals, and some of them have moral objections to birth control
  • The Affordable Care Act (i.e. 'Obamacare') will cap annual premiums, require minimum coverage levels, and outlaw discrimination against people with pre-existing conditions. What do you think?
    This program will be a disaster. Not only is it an unconstitutional violation of personal freedom, but it will lead to a decline in American health care and will prove to be financially impossible to maintain without socializing the health care system.
  • Would you support a Constitutional Amendment to overturn some provisions of the Citizens United ruling, affecting campaign finance by PAC's?
    I would be happy to disavow the use of Super PAC advertising if my opponent would as well. Unfortunately the other side will do anything to win this election, regardless of how it aligns with the will of the public.
  • Do you see any need for a United States Institute of Peace?
    This agency performs valuable research on how to avoid future conflicts. It will pay for itself many times over if it succeeds at that mission.
  • How do you feel about capitalism and the free market?
    We need greater cooperation between government and corporations. I'm not opposed to government investments and even ownership of key industries, where appropriate.
  • How much attack advertising will your campaign use?
    I will run an uplifting, positive campaign focusing on the issues that concern the American people. I trust that they will see through any petty, unfounded attacks that our opponents come up with.
  • The most recent poll showed you slipping by a couple of percentage points. Are you planning on making any changes in your campaign to address this?
    The only day that matters is election day. I think the fundamental incompetence of my opponent will be obvious by that point.
  • Some theorists have suggested that the government create guaranteed jobs at the federal minimum wage, to help support the labor market. Is this something that you would consider?
    This is a terrible idea. Can't you just picture twenty million employees performing make-work jobs at miniscule wages?
  • Tell us how you feel about the Keystone Pipeline.
    It's shameful that we're even having a debate on this. It just goes to show how much influence oil companies have at the highest levels of government.
  • If elected, what will you do to repeal Obamacare?
    I will offer an alternative health care reform plan which doesn't regulate private insurers to such an unrealistic extreme. I will work for malpractice reform as well, so that unnecessary litigation does not continue to drive up the cost of health care.
  • During your tenure, Bain Capital laid off thousands of workers at various companies that it purchased. Are you proud of your work at that company?
    Joseph Schumpeter coined the term of "creative destruction". Society will never evolve if some people aren't relocated into more productive pursuits from time to time.
  • How does your insurance plan in Massachusetts differ from Obamacare?
    My plan was a good plan for Massachusetts. Obamacare is bad because it forces an individual mandate on the American public.
  • What will be the overriding theme of your nomination speech at the Republican Convention?
    I will hammer on the theme that Obama has completely failed the United States as President. He has presided over the largest deficit increases and highest unemployment rate in almost a hundred years.
  • What is your guiding foreign policy philosophy?
    Human Rights -- It's past time that we cut allegiances with dictators like the House of Saud and truly lived up to our ideals. I will only support or give aid to democratically elected leaders.
  • In the most general terms, what will be your overall campaign strategy against Obama?
    We will attack Barack Obama relentlessly. He has gone back on his pledge to clean up our political system, he has destroyed hundreds of thousands of jobs in his first term, his values are out of touch with those of most Americans, and his health care reform is disastrous.
