Answers:

  • Where will you spend your final day of the campaign?
    Michigan, Wisconsin, and Iowa
  • What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?
Let's all come together -- women, Hispanics, Muslims, moderates, college students, military veterans, African-Americans -- to defeat Donald Trump!
  • Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?
I want Obama to make a targeted appeal to the African-American community to help make my case.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?
I am going to be pretty explicit in calling out the rhetoric and demagoguery of Donald Trump throughout this election.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?
We'll bring up Trump University whenever Trump attacks us. Maybe it will get him to shut up for a bit.
  • What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?
Free trade and globalization have been a huge driver of economic growth over the past 25 years.
  • Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?
    That's absurd. Of course not.
  • To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?
I'm going to announce during my acceptance speech that I support a minimum wage of $15 an hour.
  • To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?
I am my own candidate. We need to minimize how much we are associated with the Obama Administration during this campaign.
  • To what extent will you support the presence of Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail?
We want Sanders on the campaign trail as much as possible, and we will discuss with him what we can do to make it happen.
  • Donald Trump is attacking you almost daily on your 2002 vote in favor of the Iraq War. How do you plan to respond?
We would have stabilized Iraq and won a great victory there, if we hadn't pulled out so hastily.
  • Do you stand by your position, voiced during the primaries, that you will not deport any illegal immigrant who has not otherwise committed a crime?
I stand by that statement 100 percent. And I will push for immigration reform within my first 100 days as President.
  • Do you have plans to emphasize a path to universal health care in your campaign?
We need to do something to drive turnout and keep Sanders supporters off of the sidelines. I will pledge to fight for universal health care as President.
  • Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?
Donald Trump has repeatedly stepped over the line with his irresponsible rhetoric, and it shouldn't be any surprise that more and more protestors are turning out against him.
  • In the wake of Trump's nomination, a number of prominent anti-Trump Republicans are organizing to cast votes for Libertarian Gary Johnson as a protest, with an emphasis on the Western states. What are your thoughts?
I believe, regardless of how we feel about Donald Trump, that he won his party's nomination and should not be challenged in this manner.
  • Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?
We shouldn't dignify Donald Trump's views with a debate. I will decline to participate in them.
  • What was your rationale behind selecting Elizabeth Warren as your running mate?
Elizabeth Warren is a good friend and an icon of the progressive movement. There are very few people in this country who have done more to advance progressive ideals than Ms. Warren.
  • Beginning in July, the Dow Jones Industrial Average entered an extremely bearish stretch, based largely on news out of China, losing over 30% of its value by October. A recession seems likely. Will you address this as you campaign?
If this does affect the broader economy, we will be doing anything we can under my administration to pass stimulus measures.
  • The FBI has recommended the indictment of several of your aides, based on classified intelligence which they obtained from secure facilities and emailed to you. Do you have any comment?
I will immediately apologize for any lapses that occurred while I was Secretary of State, and will pledge to do anything possible to cooperate moving forward, so that we can get to the bottom of this.
  • Do you support the recent nuclear deal between the United States and Iran?
I support this deal, but I will work very hard as President to see that it is aggressively enforced.
  • Do you support the construction of a 20-foot wall along the entire length of the U.S.-Mexico border?
This is one of the most far-fetched ideas that I've heard in my political career.
  • Do you support the recent reopening of relations with Cuba?
I'm glad that we have reached out to Cuba, but I would like to have seen a little more insistence that they liberalize their country first.
  • What is your take on the Black Lives Matter movement?
I believe that black lives matter. I fully support this group in their objectives. They are the civil rights group of our time.
  • Today, in a stump speech, Donald Trump said that, "women like Hillary, they can't handle power. It makes them crazy. We have to stop it." What is your reaction?
Mr. Trump has proven over and over again how little respect he has for women in any capacity. This is yet another outrageous statement in that area.
  • To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?
Everybody knows about these kinds of statements. We shouldn't allow ourselves to be dragged into the gutter on this. Rather, we should focus on policy issues in our campaign.
