- What message will you emphasize as you accept your party's nomination for President of the United States?As President, I will push for a higher minimum wage, immigration reform, economic growth, and a responsible foreign policy. We have no idea what my opponent would do.
- Barack Obama is looking to you for pointers on the content of his convention speech, to make sure it is congruent with your campaign strategy. What should he emphasize?Obama should focus on his accomplishments and the improving economy, and then on how I will uphold his policies and legacy as President.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the rhetoric he has used about Mexicans, Muslims, women, and other groups?I am going to be pretty explicit in calling out the rhetoric and demagoguery of Donald Trump throughout this election.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for the controversy surrounding Trump University?We'll bring up Trump University whenever Trump attacks us. Maybe it will get him to shut up for a bit.
- What message will you emphasize about the political views of Donald Trump on economic and budget issues?I have opposed the Trans-Pacific Partnership for many of the same reasons that Trump brings up. The bipartisan support for free trade that he inveighs against simply doesn't exist.
- Would you consider making a pledge to, if elected, serve a single term as President?That's absurd. Of course not.
- To what extent will you make an increase in the minimum wage a key part of your campaign? Do you stand by your commitment to $12/hour?I'm going to announce during my acceptance speech that I support a minimum wage of $15 an hour.
- Are you still opposed to the Trans-Pacific Partnership? Would you pursue further trade agreements as President?I would encourage Democrats in Congress to oppose the Trans-Pacific Partnership when it comes to a vote.
- To what extent will you campaign with Barack Obama, or support his presence on the campaign trail this year?We want Obama on the campaign trail as much as possible, and we plan to do several joint events.
- Do you have plans to emphasize a path to universal health care in your campaign?We need to do something to drive turnout and keep Sanders supporters off of the sidelines. I will pledge to fight for universal health care as President.
- Many left-wing groups are organizing huge protests at Donald Trump's rallies, some of which involve blocking traffic or forcing the cancellation of speeches. Do you have anything to say about these tactics?Donald Trump has repeatedly stepped over the line with his irresponsible rhetoric, and it shouldn't be any surprise that more and more protestors are turning out against him.
- Do you plan to participate in the traditional three debates, between yourself and Donald Trump?Any chance we can get to expose Trump's complete lack of preparation for the Presidency is a win for us.
- What was your rationale behind selecting Elizabeth Warren as your running mate?Elizabeth Warren is a good friend and an icon of the progressive movement. There are very few people in this country who have done more to advance progressive ideals than Ms. Warren.
- While giving a speech today, you suddenly stopped speaking and appeared to briefly faint. A Secret Service agent supported you, and you came to and quickly finished the speech. Do you have any comment?It was just a headache which came on suddenly, and not any kind of long-term health issue. It's a shame that certain members of the right-wing have trafficked in fantastical conspiracy theories about my health.
- Beginning in July, the Dow Jones Industrial Average entered an extremely bearish stretch, based largely on news out of China, losing over 30% of its value by October. A recession seems likely. Will you address this as you campaign?This is exactly the reason why I've had second thoughts about the Trans-Pacific Partnership and other trade deals.
- The FBI has recommended the indictment of several of your aides, based on classified intelligence which they obtained from secure facilities and emailed to you. Do you have any comment?This is yet another example, like Benghazi or many others, of a politically motivated witch hunt. I support my associates completely, and fully expect to see their names cleared before this is done.
- In a hearing today, a New York judge has set the trial date for the Trump University lawsuit to August of this year. Do you have any comment?I'm not surprised. Trump has been less than honest in any number of areas throughout his life.
- What is your position on gun control?We need to hold gun stores accountable when their weapons are used in violent crime. We need extensive measures to keep guns off the streets and away from criminals.
- What is your opinion of Barack Obama's performance as President?I will be very proud to continue with the policies and economy that Obama has left our country with.
- What is your position on the abortion issue?I will defend a woman's right to choose against any type of outside attack or meddling. We need to fight the recent attacks on abortion access.
- Do you believe that the Senate should confirm Merrick Garland, an Obama appointee, to the Supreme Court?This is congressional obstructionism at its worst. We've seen any number of judges be appointed in the final year of a term. We can't have what we're seeing right now.
- What is your take on the Black Lives Matter movement?I believe that black lives matter. I fully support this group in their objectives. They are the civil rights group of our time.
- Donald Trump has said in a couple of speeches that, "we don't really know" who fathered Chelsea Clinton. Do you have any comment?Mr. Trump's attacks are grotesque and outrageous. I trust that Americans of all persuasions will vote this type of rhetoric down in November.
- To what extent will you attack Donald Trump for any number of statements he has made about women in his past, including in this election cycle?Mr. Trump's gross and outlandish rhetoric should disgust any decent, hard-working women in our society. We need to show that there is no place for this rhetoric.
